Q&A

Question: What is it?
Answer: The Dial a Ride service is door-to-door transport for individuals who find it difficult to access public transport.

The Dial a Ride service operates between 08.00hrs and 17.00hrs Monday to Friday. (Please note you are booking a ride and not a vehicle therefore your journey may not always be by the most direct route and you may be expected to share the vehicle with other users going in your direction.)

Question: Where can you go?
Answer: You can use the Dial a Ride service to travel to the doctors, hospitals, dentist, and the shops or for just visiting friends.

Question: How do you use it?
Answer: In the first instance please call (01482) 719600 to register, as the scheme is only open to registered members. A Dial a Ride form will be sent to you to complete and return. After we receive the form back a member of our booking team will call to confirm you are now registered.

Question: How to book?
Answer: Please call the booking office on (01482) 719600 with the details of your journey. Please inform the booking staff of any critical time, special travel requirement or special consideration that you may require.

The booking office is open between 09:00hrs to 13:00hrs Monday to Friday.

The Dial a Ride scheme is a pre booked service that can be booked for the next day or up to a calendar month in advance. Due to the popular nature of the service we would advise that you that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Question: How much will it cost?
Answer: £3.50 per journey (£7.00 return trip).

Journeys outside of Hull can be arranged and will be individually priced based on availability and mileage basis.

Question: What if I need a friend or family member to travel with me?
Answer: If you require a family member or friend to help you to travel this can be arranged. Please inform the booking team when you request the booking. The cost would be £2 per journey.
